What is twisted the band?

Twisted Sister was an American heavy metal band from New York City. The band was formed in 1972 and consisted of Dee Snider (vocals), Jay Jay French (guitar), Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda (guitar), Mark "The Animal" Mendoza (bass) and A. J. Pero (drums).

Twisted Sister rose to fame in the early 1980s with their hit songs "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock". The band's image, which included outrageous clothing and heavy makeup, also played a role in their success.

Despite their popularity, Twisted Sister faced significant backlash from conservative groups, including the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC), for their "offensive" lyrics and image. This led to the formation of the Parents Music Resource Center, which aimed to regulate offensive music and lyrics.

Twisted Sister disbanded in 1987, but reunited in the early 2000s for a series of tours and albums. In 2016, the band announced that they would be retiring from touring.
